Secretary of State for Inclusion visits Castro Marim Alzheimer's Home

Space opened last year

Ana Sofia Antunes, Secretary of State for Inclusion, visited, this Friday, January 5th, the Residential Structure for the Elderly and “José Cabrita” Day Center for people with Alzheimer's and other dementias, at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Castro Marim .

This social facility is intended to provide permanent or temporary residential accommodation for adults with neurocognitive disorders (dementia), also incorporating a neurocognitive rehabilitation unit and specialized health services.

The Secretary of State got to know the facilities and the work carried out daily in what is the first unit in the South of Portugal and one of the first in the country with this specialty.

The initiative included the participation of the president of the Municipality, Francisco Amaral, the provider of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Castro Marim José Cabrita, the director of the District Social Security Center of Faro Margarida Flores, the Alzheimer's Home technician Iola Fernandes, the clinical director of the structure Isabel Valente and the president of the Secretariat of Misericórdias de Faro Armindo Vicente.
