Two men arrested for theft, driving without a license and drug trafficking in Portimão

In two different situations

A 33-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were arrested in Portimão for committing the crime of theft, driving without a legal license and drug trafficking, in two different situations.

According to the PSP, the first suspect, the 33-year-old man, was arrested following a robbery at a commercial establishment, on January 14th. Shortly after the robbery, he tried to escape, having been chased by local employees.

«During this pursuit, two citizens who became aware of the situation tried to prevent the suspect from escaping, having been violently attacked and, in this way, the suspect managed to complete his escape», explains the PSP in a note, noting that it managed to detain the man yesterday.

The second suspect, aged 24, was detained as part of a police road inspection operation.

The police verified that the man did not have a legal license to drive and, in addition, they noticed a strong smell of drugs coming from inside the car, «which led to a search of the vehicle, with around 380 doses being located and seized. individual hashish items", explains the PSP.

Both detainees will be brought before the Judicial Authority during the day to apply coercive measures.
