Silves will have a Municipal Budget of 72 million euros for 2024, 6,6 million euros higher than last year, the municipality announced.
The Chamber expects “current revenue to reach 55,6 million euros and current expenses to reach 47 million euros”.
«Capital revenues point to 8,6 million euros and capital expenditure (investment) to 24 million euros, the latter value being a fundamental indicator of the great municipal dynamics in terms of implementing projects and works», added the silvense municipality.
Among the works planned are «the Bypass to the Industrial Perimeter of Algoz, the Requalification of Rua D. João II in Armação de Pêra, the Repaving of the Benafátima/Nave Redonda road (São Marcos da Serra), the Repaving of EM Algoz-Limite of the municipality and the Requalification of Rua das Telecommunications and surrounding areas (SB Messines), the Requalification of the Historic Center of SB de Messines, the Requalification of the Access to Silves Station and the Urbanization of Cerro de São Miguel, the completion of the EB1 School of Alcantarilha and Bairro do Progresso (Silves)».
The municipality also highlights «the Functional Improvement/Adaptation of the Health Centers of Armação de Pêra, SB de Messines, Alcantarilha, Tunes, Silves, the relocation of the Health Center of São Marcos da Serra, the Conservation and Restoration of the Ponte Velha de Silves , the Rehabilitation, Conservation and Restoration of the Walls of Almedina de Silves, the paving of the Estrada Real in Tunes, the Rehabilitation of the Urbanization of Senhora do Pilar and adjacent streets (Algoz), the Construction of a New Water Reservoir in Monte de São José and new Water Pumping Station in Portela de Messines (SB Messines), Athletics Track in Tunes and Sports Center in Algoz».
The document has already been approved both in the Chamber Meeting – with votes in favor of the CDU (4) and the abstentions of the PSD (2) and PS (1) councilors – and in the Municipal Assembly – votes in favor of the CDU bench (12), the abstentions of the PSD (8) and PS (6) benches, and the vote against by the Chega member.
