Portobay Falésia employees have been on strike for three days for better working conditions

Workers “threaten” to go on strike again at Christmas and New Year’s Eve

Employees at the Hotel Portobay Falésia, in Albufeira, are on their third day of strike today to demand better working conditions. 

Workers want to restore payment for work on public holidays with a 200% increase, a 10% salary increase with a minimum of 100 euros, a reduction in working hours to 35 hours a week and the transfer of all employees to the workforce. workers with precarious employment who respond to permanent needs.

In a statement, the Algarve Hotel, Tourism, Restaurant and Similar Industry Workers' Union states that «if the administration does not sit down at the table with the union negotiating committee, the workers will
to go on strike again on the 24th, 25th and 31st of December and the 1st of January».
