Farense loses to Vitória on a festive day

Algarve are in 8nd place

Farense lost 1-2 against Vitória Sport Clube, from Guimarães, in a game from the 12th round of the I Football League, played this Saturday, December 2nd, at the São Luís Stadium, in Faro.

One day after the Algarve enclosure celebrated 100 years, Farense wanted to mark the date with a victory.

But soon they started to lose. Vitória took the lead in the 3rd minute, with a goal from Tomás Ribeiro, following a corner taken from the left.

Throughout the first half, Farense showed little, but ended up reaching a draw in the second half.

Marco Matias was fouled inside the area and the referee awarded a penalty. Called on to convert, Bruno Duarte scored. 57 minutes had been played and the game seemed to be relaunched… until Fabrício was sent off.

The midfielder received two yellow cards in two minutes and Farense was reduced to 10 players, at 63′.

Vitória charged and scored the winning goal in the 88th minute, through Jota Silva.

Farense failed to achieve their fourth consecutive victory. The Algarvians continue with 16 points and are, as a rule, in 8th place.
