Farense Stadium turns 100 today

Birthday is being celebrated by people from Faro

 

The São Luís Stadium, opened on December 1, 1923, celebrates 100 years today. 

To mark the date, the 100th anniversary plaque for the Farense Stadium was unveiled this morning.

The ceremony was attended by several fans of this Algarve club and with speeches by the president of the board of SC Farense João Rodrigues, the president of the Chamber of Faro Rogério Bacalhau and the president of the general assembly of SC Farense Cristóvão Norte.

To mark this anniversary, tomorrow, December 2nd, at halftime of Farense's game against Vitória, during the break, Pedro Benje, former goalkeeper for the Algarve club, will be honored.

The opening of the exhibition on the history of Farense is scheduled for April 1st of next year, at Palacete Belmarço.

During the next year, the book on the history of Farense will also be released.
