President of the Republic promulgates increase in the minimum wage to 820 euros in 2024

Decree was approved on Thursday by the Government

The President of the Republic today enacted the increase in the national minimum wage from the current 760 euros to 820 euros from January 2024, a decree approved on Thursday by the Government, a source in Belém told Lusa.

On Thursday, according to the statement from the Council of Ministers, “the decree-law determining the increase in the national minimum wage to 820 euros from January 1, 2024 was approved, in compliance with the commitments made in the under the Reinforcement of the Medium-Term Agreement to Improve Incomes, Wages and Competitiveness”.

“This increase represents an increase of 60 euros per month and corresponds to the largest increase in the guaranteed minimum monthly salary ever seen, of 7,9%”, highlighted the Government, in the statement.
