Thousands of people celebrated Halloween in Albufeira, on a night that featured music and a race through the city's streets.
The performance of Associação Soul was one of the highlights of the party: the dance group from Albufeira presented its most recent show “FreakShow” on stage.
Miguel Rocha, one of the references of dance scene in Portugal, he also took the stage and DJ China and Lo-Fi closed the night.
There was also a large number of athletes participating in the “Spooky Run”, a 4 and 7 kilometer race through the city streets.
The “scariest race of the year” was organized by the Clube Desportivo das Areias de S. João with the support of the Municipality and the group “Caminhadas ao Luar”.
«These events are a reflection of our efforts to promote Albufeira as a tourist destination all year round and not just in the summer months», says the president of Albufeira City Council.
José Carlos Rolo also highlighted that «Albufeira has much more to offer than sun and beaches, so it is important that we support these initiatives that allow us to welcome tourists at all times of the year and that benefit the local economy during the low season».
