More than 1 million people vaccinated against Covid-19 and flu in the first month

The data appears in the Monthly Seasonal Vaccination Report 2023-2024

A total of 1.010.615 people were vaccinated with the seasonal booster against Covid-19 and 1.271.728 people against the flu, between September 29 and October 29, announced the Directorate-General for Health.

The data is contained in the Monthly Seasonal Vaccination Report 2023-2024, a special edition that will be published in the last week of each month, by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), in conjunction with the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service (DE-SNS ), which includes data relating to health regions, eligible people due to risk pathologies and other specific groups such as healthcare professionals.

Since the beginning of the Seasonal Vaccination Campaign, 71.110 people with high-risk conditions have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and 79.863 against the flu.

28.121 healthcare professionals were also vaccinated against Covid-19 and 31.407 against the flu. At the same time, 119.751 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 and 136.856 people against the flu (residents and professionals) in homes.

In the age group of people aged 60 and over, 892.329 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 and 1.063.805 people against the flu. These values ​​represent vaccination coverage of 29,66% and 35,36%, respectively.

Of the vaccines against Covid-19, 711.831 were administered in community pharmacies and 298.773 in NHS health units. At the same time, 918.387 flu vaccines were administered in community pharmacies and 353.292 in NHS health units.

The monitoring and evaluation of the Autumn-Winter 2023-2024 Seasonal Vaccination Campaign against influenza and Covid-19 is carried out in collaboration with other services of the Ministry of Health, associations representing pharmacies and pharmaceutical distributors.

The DGS reinforces the appeal to eligible groups, including specific groups, “to get vaccinated against the flu and COVID-19 as a measure to prevent serious illness”.
