Luís Lourenço is the new Inspector General of ASAE

Replaces Pedro Portugal Gaspar in the position

Luís Filipe Cardoso Lourenço, previous Deputy Inspector General, was appointed, on a replacement basis, the new Inspector General of the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE), the Ministry of Economy and the Sea announced today.

Ana Cristina Domingues de Almeida Caldeira, previous Inspector Director of the ASAE National Operations Unit, was appointed to the position of Deputy Inspector General, also on a replacement basis.

According to the Ministry of Economy, «in both cases, the knowledge and experience acquired within the scope of the body, as well as the continuity in the pursuit of its mission, until the appointment resulting from the competitive procedures to be carried out by the Commission of Recruitment and Selection for Public Administration (CReSAP)».

The appointment of the new Inspector General of ASAE results from the fact that the service commission of the previous person in charge (Pedro Portugal Gaspar) has ended and that it is not subject to renewal, under current legislation.

The designations in question take effect from today, November 3rd, adds the Ministry.

Born on February 26, 1976, Luís Lourenço has a degree in Military Sciences, specializing in the Republican National Guard – Weapons branch, from the Military Academy. He took the promotion course to captain at the GNR Practical School and the promotion course to Senior Officer at the Institute of Higher Military Studies. He also has a postgraduate degree in Law and Security from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
