As part of this action, the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Lagoa, in partnership with the Management of the Rio Arade School Group, organized an exercise at EB23 João Cónim, involving the entire school community: 250 students, 45 teachers and 16 non-teaching staff.

The Porches Social Support Center also participated through the Cubo Mágico School Establishment, in the areas of Pre-School and Day Care – a total of 35 students, 9 educators and assistants – the Carvoeiro Social Support Center – 85 students, 5 educators and 11 assistants – and the ADR School – with 80 students and 30 collaborators, including educators and assistants.

In a note, Lagoa City Council explains that the exercise included the practice of «three simple gestures that can make a difference to those who practice them in the event of an earthquake», “Download – Protect – Wait”.

The action took place for a minute.

By coincidence, at the same time, there was a magnitude 2.6 earthquake (Richter), with epicenter off Faro and very close to the coast.
