Algarve 2030 supports new professional higher technical courses

The application deadline ends on December 14th

The Algarve 2030 Regional Program launched a new competition notice with the aim of supporting the development of new training offers at a higher technical level «aligned with economic diversification and qualification in new areas, namely climate and digital transition» announced the Coordination and Regional Development (CCDR) of the Algarve this Thursday, November 2nd. 

In a note, the CCDR says that the Management Authority of the Algarve 2030 Regional Program, «aware that the challenge of diversifying the regional economic base will only be effective if the region and companies have qualified human resources», decided to open a new notice to support the creation and development of new Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP).

For the Algarve 2030 Regional Program, the focus on higher education qualifications is «the best guarantee of the region's convergence with the effort that the country has been making, and a necessary condition for the diversification of the regional economic base and for improving the competitiveness of our country. business fabric».

The CTeSP are Higher Education courses of shorter duration than the degree, with a general, technical and scientific training component that allows capitalizing on higher-level courses, and that offer practical experience, which extends to the job market, through a professional internship.

Public higher education institutions, legally qualified to offer TeSP courses, may compete for the Algarve-2023-9 competition notice, that is, polytechnic higher education institutions and organic units of polytechnic higher education integrated into public educational institutions university degree.

With an allocation of 1,2 million euros, in Fund (FSE+), the financing will be allocated in the form of a non-refundable grant and will cover, for a maximum period of 28 months, the running costs of the courses, in the cost modality unitary.

The application deadline ends on December 14th.

In the Algarve 2030 Regional Program, support for Higher Education falls within Policy Objective 4 – A more Social Algarve, with an indicative allocation of more than Seventeen Million Euros, in Fund.
