79 detainees and more than 5500 doses of drugs seized in the Algarve last week

Between the 20th and 26th of November

In the week of 20 to 26 November, the GNR detained 79 people in the Algarve and seized more than 5500 doses of drugs. 

Of the arrests, 27 stand out for driving under the influence of alcohol, 24 for driving without a legal license and eight for drug trafficking.

From the material seized during this week, the GNR highlights 5356 doses of heroin, 206 doses of liamba, 120 doses of hashish, 15 cannabis plants, one pistol, cincluding cell phones, three precision scales and two knives.

In traffic, 564 infractions were detected, highlighting 104 for speeding, 40 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 37 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 20 for improper use of a cell phone while driving, 20 for lack of or incorrect use of a seat belt or child restraint system and 14 for lack of civil liability insurance.

Between the 20th and 26th of November there were 123 accidents, which resulted in one serious injury and 27 minor injuries.
