More than 80 activities, including walks and themed tours, mountain biking routes, workshops and even a poetry session. The 6th edition of “Barão de São João – Walk & Art Fest” takes place from the 3rd to the 5th of November, in this village in the municipality of Lagos.

Lagos City Council and Associação Almargem are the organizers of “Barão de São João – Walk & Art Fest”, which counts, once again, on the partnership of the local artistic community and the support of the Union of Parishes of Bensafrim and Barão of Saint John.

The festival is based at the Barão de São João Cultural Center and takes place in various spaces in the village and the surrounding territory, allowing you to explore the local natural and cultural heritage.

The program has more than 80 activities, spread over the three days of the event: walks and themed tours, mountain biking routes, activities for children, well-being activities and workshops. A poetry session is also planned, on Saturday in the late afternoon. All activities are free, but subject to registration on the festival website.

One of the highlights of “Barão de São João – Walk & Art Fest” is the artistic installation, a collective exhibition of works by several local artists, which can be seen throughout the event on the streets of Barão de São João.

On Saturday night, as is tradition, the Centro Cultural de Barão de São João will host a concert: “Time for T”, the solo version by Tiago Saga, with his voice and guitar guaranteeing a hot night .

The planned walks have different levels of difficulty, so that everyone can enjoy the physical activity and nature of this parish. Themed tours allow you to discover local history, geology, architecture, fauna and flora.

Also noteworthy is the program aimed especially at children: story time, treasure hunt, stamp workshop, and various nature discovery activities. These are some of the activities designed for the youngest.

The well-being theme includes practices such as Yoga, Tai Chi and QiGong (Chi Ckung), as well as group sessions that combine music, dance and movement, allowing everyone to participate and get involved.

Workshops will take place every day of the event, ranging from arts (cyanotype, mandala creation), to mindfulness, food (vegan food) and non-violent communication.

The event will once again count on several partnerships, such as tourist entertainment companies and official entities that will promote most of the activities.

Registration is now open and can be made here
