The São Brás de Alportel Philharmonic Band – ACREMS will promote another Percussion Workshop on the 29th of October, starting at 10am, which will culminate with a didactic concert, scheduled for 00pm, at Oficina dos Sons, the headquarters of this association.

The work will be supervised by Professor Vasco Ramalho and will have “a special focus on blade percussion instruments and accessories”.

«This workshop has pedagogical and didactic objectives that aim to provide contact with different musical learning methodologies in percussion and to make known and introduce the blade instruments of the percussion family (xylophone) to participating students and the general public», according to the ACREMS.

The work will end with a didactic concert (open to the public and free entry) by the #Páginas Sustenidas project and guests, namely Mauro Mestre and the Workshop participants.

«This project proposes to undertake a musical journey around books, from soundtracks to film adaptations of literary works and from original themes composed by the two musicians to utopian soundtracks for films never made about particular books. Starting from marimba and banjo, Vasco Ramalho and Carlos Norton use several other instruments throughout their musical journey», describes the organization.

Places for participants are limited and registrations must be made following this link. The workshop is free.

The event is organized by the São Brás de Alportel Philharmonic Band – ACREMS and has the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel.
