Photogallery: Mamamaratona took 2500 people to Passeio das Dunas

The objective was to raise funds for the cause of fighting cancer and supporting cancer patients and their families

More than 2500 people participated this Sunday, October 15th, in Mamamaratona 23 (MM 23), which «was a great success», exceeding the expectations of the Algarve Oncological Association (AOA).

In collaboration with the Loulé City Council, the Parish of Quarteira and the Algarve Athletics Association, the event took place on Passeio das Dunas, between Quarteira and Vilamoura.
Participants had the opportunity to choose between a 5 or 7 kilometer Walk/Run, a 10 kilometer Mini Marathon and a 21 kilometer Algarve Half Marathon, all with the aim of supporting AOA.

Several personalities, including Maria de Lurdes Santos Pereira, Francisco Chumbinho, Telmo Pinto, Custódio Moreno and Carlos Carmo, welcomed the more than 2500 participants before the match.

MM 23 promoted awareness about breast cancer, the importance of a healthy lifestyle and raised funds for the AOA work. Additionally, the “Health Fair” offered massages and health screenings.
