Two comebacks, one for each side, seven goals and excitement from start to finish marked the match between Rio Ave and Farense, which the Algarve team won with a late goal.
This was, moreover, an emotional game from start to finish.
And the “action” started very early, after just 4 minutes, when Belloumi opened the scoring, with a pass from Bruno Duarte.
The same Bruno Duarte was close to making it 2-0 shortly after, but hit the post.
The Vila Condenses reacted and equalized in the 33rd minute, thanks to an own goal by Artur Jorge, who, when trying to block Fábio Ronaldo's shot, put the ball in his own goal.
Rio Ave turned things around in the 43rd minute, in a ridiculous move, in which the home players shot twice at the woodwork and, only on the third, managed to score. The goal was scored by André Pereira.
Even before the break, Farense restored equality, thanks to a goal from Bruno Duarte in added time, following a corner scored by Marco Matias.
After the break, Rio Ave went looking for the goal again and took the lead again in the 62nd minute.
The referee considered that Artur Jorge, who had already scored an own goal, brought down an opponent in the area, and awarded a penalty. Costinha, called to convert, did not fail.
The home team was comfortable in the game and seemed to have everything under control, but Farense had other plans.
In the 89th minute, Cláudio Falcão tied the match and four minutes later, it was Rui Costa who operated the turnaround and scored the final 4-3.
With this result, Farense rose to 12th place in the I League Championship, when nine rounds have been played, with 10 points added.
