Presenter and actor João Paulo Sousa was the organizer of a presentation session of the pedagogical project to promote mental health “ Isso é Psicológico ”, which took place on October 10th, at Secundária de Loulé.
The session was attended by around 200 students from Escola Secundária Laura Ayres and Escola Secundária de Loulé.
In this initiative, promoted by the Chamber of Loulé, João Paulo Sousa, presenter at SIC, animator at Rádio Comercial and also an actor «addressed his personal, academic and professional journey, as well as his individual perspective (“Me and mental health”), the collective perspective (“Others and mental health”) and how to act when it comes to mental health».
The pedagogical activity “Emotional First Aid Kit” was also carried out. At the end of the presentation, all young people received the book “ Isso é Psicológico ”, which includes tools for reflection and self-knowledge.
The event was attended by Ana Machado, councilor for education at the municipality, who highlighted «the importance of creating projects, intervention programs and policies with an impact on the health and well-being and healthy development of young people».
Subsequently, the director of the Loulé Secondary School, Renata Afonso invited this municipal official and João Paulo Sousa to visit the exhibition of works carried out by the students of the Loulé Secondary School dedicated to the theme “Mental Health”.
The “That’s Psychological” project aims to provide young people with mental health promotion and prevention tools, which expand this group’s knowledge and perception of this topic, both from an individual point of view and from a collective point of view. , motivating them towards proactive behavior.
