Sailboat with two Englishmen on board helped off Albufeira

The sailboat was towed to Albufeira Marina, where it docked in the early evening

A sailboat, with two English crew on board, which was in difficulty due to a rudder failure, was helped this Friday, September 15th, three nautical miles (about five kilometers) south of Albufeira Marina.

The alert was given at 17:30 pm.

«Upon arrival at the location it was found that the sailboat's crew were physically well and that the sailboat had a damaged tiller», says the National Maritime Authority (AMN).

The sailboat was towed to Albufeira Marina, where it docked in the early evening.

«The owner was notified that he will only be able to leave after undergoing an inspection, in order to ensure navigability conditions», concludes the AMN.
