The seminar “Água do Sotavento – Perspectives” will take place on October 27th, starting at 14:30 pm, at the headquarters of the Association of Beneficiaries of the Sotavento do Algarve Irrigation Plan, in Tavira.
According to the organization, «The Algarve and the Alentejo Coast suffer like never before from the effects of the drought that has been felt in these regions in recent years, more than in the rest of the country».
This leads to the need to “reflect” on “water savings, its reuse, irrigation efficiency and new storage solutions”.
The initiative will feature the participation of Macário Correia, president of the association, António Pina, president of AMAL – Comunidade Intermunicipal do Algarve, and António Eusébio, president of the company “Águas do Algarve”.
António Carmona Rodrigues, former mayor of Lisbon and current university professor, will also be present.
The location of the seminar is not yet closed – it will be decided depending on the number of interested parties.
