The event “Amendoim em Festa” (or alcagoita) takes place on the 28th and 29th of October, in Rogil (Aljezur).
The objective is for the initiative to be «an opportunity for the promotion and commercialization of peanuts, as an excellent product produced in the Parish of Rogil».
The date chosen took into account the end of the peanut production cycle, that is, the period immediately after harvesting.
During the two days of the event you will be able to taste a wide range of peanut-based food products, in the taverns, on the stands of the sweet shops or local producers present at the event. Honey, sausages, liqueurs and other local products will be part of this gastronomic exhibition.
On the musical side, on Saturday, the 28th, there will be the Itinerant Band “Ruído à Portuguesa” opening the night. Next, it will be the turn of Banda Zoombidos. To finish, there will be a concert by “Emanuel Martins and Tânia.”
«On the 29th, we will have the Real Tuna Infantina – Tuna Mista from the University of Algarve, with the traditional music of the “Amantes do Alentejo” and we will end with a Baile enhanced by Cláudio Rosário», says the Chamber of Aljezur.
Amendoim em Festa will also feature the musical performance of Projeto Entrelaçar from the Municipality of Aljezur, the “Rogil Guitar Kids” with Telma Silva, the Orquestra Juvenil de Guitarras do Algarve (Polo de Aljezur), the performances of Hip Hop Groups from BOX 18 and also with the School of Infants and Cadets of the Volunteer Firefighters of Aljezur.
Amendoim em Festa – Rogil is an organization of the Parish Council of Rogil with the support of the Municipality of Aljezur.
