Portimonense made its debut in this year's edition of the First Football League, beating Vitória Sport Clube (Guimarães) 1-2, this Sunday, September 17th. The Algarve team were losing, but turned the result around with a goal in the last minute.

The home team took the lead, in the 17th minute, through an own goal by Filipe Relvas.

Jota crossed from the right and the Portimonense centre-back, when trying to make the cut, ended up putting the ball in his own goal.

Vitória dominated much of the game, but would see Portimonense achieve an unlikely comeback.

It all started in the 82nd minute, when Manu fouled Gonçalo Costa inside the area. Called on to convert, Carlinhos equalized.

The last minutes were exciting. Balanced to attack, Vitória played more with their hearts than their heads, which favored the Algarve team.

At 90+6′, Portimonense came out with a quick counterattack, Carlinhos faced the opponent, pulled to his right foot and, inside the area, shot in an arc into the back of Bruno Varela's goal.

Paulo Sérgio's team thus recorded their first victory in the I League and has five points accumulated (13th place). In the next round, Portimonense will host Benfica, on Sunday, the 24th, from 18pm.
