The first creative residency of “ColecTA'23 – Colectivo Teatral do Algarve”, an initiative by Mákina de Cena, began on the 11th of September, in Loulé.
The residency is being directed by Nuno Pino Custódio, which will – after nine weeks of work, spread across Loulé, Lagos and Lagoa – culminate in a theatrical creation that brings together 9 Algarve actresses and actors on stage, coming from different artistic structures in the region.
The show that will result from this creation process is scheduled to premiere on November 10th at Cineteatro Louletano and, in 2024, will continue on the road, with dates already scheduled for Lagoa, Lagos and Faro, cities co-producing the project, during the months of February and March.
Angelo Lorusso, Carolina Santos, Laura Pereira, Letícia Blanc, Mauro Coelho, Rafaella Ambrozio, Sara Vicente, Tânia Silva and João Tátá Regala are part of the international cast of this first edition of ColecTA, held in partnership with ACTA – The Algarve Theater Company , A Fera Teatro, Ar Quente, Artis XXI, Sin-Cera Teatro, Te.Atrito, TEL – Teatro Experimental de Lagos, ETIC Algarve and Casa da Cultura de Loulé.
ColecTA – Colectivo Teatral do Algarve is a regional professional training project, where creation does not arise in isolation, but integrates a set of four workshops within the scope of performing arts (theatre, lighting, scenography and costumes and production).
With a first edition, the aim is for the collective to grow, implementing a cyclical creative activity and receptive to other participants, with a new edition scheduled for 2025/26.
This is a project designed by Mákina de Cena, a structure in Loulé financed by the Portuguese Republic – Culture / General Directorate of Arts and the Municipality of Loulé, in co-production with Cineteatro Louletano, Auditorium Carlos do Carmo de Lagoa, Centro Cultural de Lagos and Teatro of the Figures.
