Sociedade da Água de Monchique was the big winner of the 1st edition of the Auchan Food Innovation Award, in the Packaging Innovation category, with Monchique Natura.
Monchique Natura is the first Portuguese bottle, and one of the first in the world, to reach the market without labels. Entirely produced from other bottles, it replaces the use of labels with embossing on the packaging itself, being 100% recycled and recyclable.
The innovative bottle will be available in 555 ml and in packs of six, in ecological packaging, made from FSC-certified recycled cardboard and will be on the market by the end of 2023.
Henrique Prucha, Commercial and Marketing Director of Sociedade da Água de Monchique, highlights the enormous pride in this distinction «and in what it represents for the entire Monchique team which, with its innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, adds knowledge and value to the market. This should also be the aim of companies: to do more and better, leaving a positive contribution to society. And we at Água Monchique put this purpose into everything we do every day,” he says.
The person responsible also leaves a word of thanks to Auchan «for the initiative of valuing and rewarding the work of partners, encouraging and stimulating innovation and the development of the entire food sector», he praises.
Launched in 2023 with the aim of giving a platform to companies with the potential to revolutionize the future of the agri-food sector and democratize access to food innovation, the 1st edition of the Auchan Food Innovation Award had more than 70 projects in competition.
