Book shows “Enchanted Mouras and Other Legends” from the Algarve

The work, published by Arandis Editora, brings together a set of 18 traditional Algarve legends

The book “Mouras Encantadas e Outra Lendas”, with 18 illustrations by Ana Cristina Martins, will be presented this Friday, September 29th, from 14pm, at Escola EB00 de Pêra (Silves). 

The work, published by Arandis Editora, brings together a set of 18 traditional Algarve legends.

The presentation will be attended by Roberto Cabrita, president of the Alcantarilha e Pêra Parish Union, the entity sponsoring the work.

Ana Cristina Martins was born in Angola, in 1964. Descendant of families from Albufeira, she moved to Armação de Pêra after decolonization.

An accountant, he even attended a degree in History and Archeology, which he did not complete due to the difficulty of combining family life with studies. Self-taught, he has dedicated himself to illustration and writing, creating illustrated books dedicated to the school community, influenced by his close relationship with his four grandchildren.

«Mouras Encantadas e Outra Lendas» is his first published work.
