Expenses of farmers affected by the fire in Aljezur and Monchique have already been paid

Support was given to producers who saw the pastures used to feed cattle, sheep and goats destroyed.

The expenses of livestock producers affected by the fire that occurred in the first days of August, in the municipalities of Aljezur and Monchique, originating in Odemira, were already paid on September 6th, the Algarve Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries reported today.

In total, 7037 euros were paid to seven producers who saw the pastures used to feed cattle, sheep and goats destroyed.

After confirmation of the declared losses on site, payments were made in conjunction with the Planning, Policies and General Administration Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

In total, 178 cattle, 9 sheep and 6 goats are supported, according to the Sul Informação from a source from the Regional Directorate of Agriculture.

This payment results from the implementation of Normative Order No. 11/2023 of the Minister of Agriculture and Food, published on 22/08/2023, which created extraordinary financial support for the purchase of food on the market by injured farmers.
