Under the EPIS project – Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion

The Galp Foundation will award merit scholarships to undergraduate and master's students from the municipalities of Alcoutim, Odemira, Ourique and Santiago do Cacém, under the EPIS – Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion project.

Interested parties can apply until September 22nd, through this link, having to have successfully completed secondary education or a degree in 2022/2023 and be residents of one of these municipalities.

Galp's social merit scholarships will be awarded to students from all areas of knowledge, but preferably to those taking courses in the energy and sustainability sectors.

The degree scholarships cover a period of three years with a total value of 2700 euros per student. Master's scholarships guarantee support of 2100 euros per student in a two-year cycle of studies.

In all, 40 scholarships will be made available, which will be distributed to as many students from «strategic municipalities for the development of Galp's energy ecosystem», namely Matosinhos, Sines, Santiago do Cacém, Setúbal, Alcoutim, Ourique and Odemira.

«Santiago do Cacém is part of the influence zone of the Sines refinery, a complex that is undergoing a transformation process and will, in the future, be a Green Energy Park. Ourique and Odemira are part of the future of clean energy, from solar photovoltaics, at the heart of Galp's transformation», describes the company.

Alcoutim «is home to Galp's largest solar park in Portugal, representing the future of clean energy at the heart of the company's transformation».

«The scholarship program reinforces Galp's social commitment to the communities in which it operates and is part of the company's participation in the EPIS project - Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion, which in 2023 brings together 42 institutions responsible for awarding 195 scholarships in an investment total of more than 400 thousand euros», adds Galp.

Between 2019 and 2022, the Galp Foundation provided «193 social grants for all levels of education for students in Portugal, Spain, Mozambique and Eswatini».
