Algarve Regional Director of Culture mourns the death of Manuel Brito

Manuel Brito died today, aged 62, from lung cancer.~

Adriana Freire Nogueira, regional director of Algarve culture, issued a note of regret regretting the death of Manuel Brito, founder of the publishing house «Sul, Sol e Sal». 

Born in Olhão, Manuel Lázaro Oliveira de Brito lived most of his life in Lisbon, where he worked in the area of ​​financial auditing, and died today, aged 62, from lung cancer.

In 2015, he returned to the Algarve and founded the publishing house «Sul, Sol e Sal», dedicated to publishing works on the culture and heritage of the Algarve.

Pesca no Algarve Medieval, by José Marcelino Castanheira, and the magazine Meridional, by the Instituto de Cultura Ibero-Atlântica (ICIA), were the most recent publications, supported by the Support Program for Publishing, of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, and edited by «Sul, Sol e Sal»

To her bereaved family and friends, the Regional Director of Culture of the Algarve, on her own behalf and that of the institution, sends her most heartfelt condolences.
