MTB: 6th Algarve XCM Cup takes place in Lagos

The XCM (Cross Country Marathon) races are a long version of the XCO (Olympic Cross Country)

The 6th Algarve XCM Cup (BTT) will be held on October 22nd, in the Mata Nacional de Barão de São João, in Lagos. 

The event is part of the Algarve Regional Championship and is part of the routes that are part of the Centro Cyclin' Lagos. Registration is open to all mountain biking lovers, more specifically the XCM discipline.

The XCM (Cross Country Marathon) races are a long version of the XCO (Olympic Cross Country), with this competition's main feature being the fact that it brings together amateurs and professionals.

Starting and finishing at the Lagos Cyclin' Center, next to the Barão de São João Cultural Center, the Marathon (72 km) and Half-Marathon (49 km) races will be held simultaneously, with athletes, from both sexes, federated (Juniors, Sub23, Elites, Masters), non-federated (Open), paracyclists and E-MTB (Electric Mountain Bike) users.

The route will start at 9:30 am (start by stage), with the Half Marathon expected to arrive at 12:00 pm and the Marathon at 14:00 pm.

The trophy ceremony for this 6th edition of the competition will take place at 15pm. Along the entire route there will be three supply areas, and all safety and health conditions will also be ensured through the implemented plan.

Jointly organized by the municipality of Lagos and the Algarve Cycling Association, the sporting event has the support of the local associations Grupo Popular das Portelas, Associação Amigos de Almádena and Team Pisa Moitas 4×4.
