The exhibition “Arvoredos e Canaviais”, by Jorge Santos, will be opened at the Municipal Library of Silves, on September 3rd, at 16:30 pm, as part of the Municipality Day celebrations.
«The exhibition is a tribute to the work of the artist Jorge Santos and to his memory of the place where he was born», says the municipality in a note.
His artistic production, carried out over almost a quarter of a century, includes drawings, paintings, screen prints, photographs, videos, sculptures, tiles and artist's books, but also annotated notebooks containing studies for various projects in each of these areas of creation. .
The exhibition, the first in a cycle dedicated to his work, curated by João Silvério, presents a selection of works from his artistic career.
The exhibition can be visited until the 30th of September on Mondays from 14:00 pm to 19:00 pm, from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 am to 19:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 17:30 pm.
Jorge Santos' works have been exhibited in Portugal and abroad and are represented in several private and institutional collections such as: MAAT – Museu de Arte Arquitectura e Tecnologia, Portugal;
