Algarve and Baixo Alentejo under yellow warning due to forecast showers, hail and thunderstorms

Situation extends between 12:00 today and 18:00 on Saturday

The districts of Faro and Beja are also under yellow warning due to the forecast of showers, sometimes heavy, and occasionally hail and frequent and scattered thunderstorms, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

Thus, the number of districts in mainland Portugal that are today and Saturday under yellow warning rose from 14 to 16.

Previously, only the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Leiria, Lisbon, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra, Viana do Castelo, Braga and Porto had this warning.

The situation extends between 12:00 today and 18:00 on Saturday.

The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
