3525 croakers were released in the Ria Formosa to increase stocks on the Algarve coast

These are surpluses not used in research at the Olhão Pisciculture Pilot Station

The Pilot Fish Farming Station in Olhão (EPPO/IPMA) once again released croaker produced in aquaculture, surpluses that were not used in research trials.

This release was aimed at restocking and increasing stocks for local fishing on the Algarve coast, explains the IPMA.

3525 croakers were released (argyrosomus regius) of around 8 grams in the interior of the Ria Formosa.

«This size of fish guarantees a greater success of its survival in the wild».
