Yolanda Hopkins becomes three-time Boardmasters Champion

The Algarve surfer had already won this title in 2019 and 2022

Algarve surfer Yolanda Yesterday Hopkins won the Boardmasters, QS1000 and inaugural stage of the 2023/2024 European regional qualifying circuit, which took place in Fistral Beach, England. 

The current European surf champion thus became three times champion of this event (2019, 2022 and 2023), having defeated, in the final, the British Alys Barton with a score of 13.40 points (6.83 + 6.57 points) against the opponent's 12.36.

On Saturday, Yolanda Hopkins beat the British Vittoria Farmer in the quarter-finals and on Sunday she defeated the German Rachel Presti in the semi-finals, making the best wave (8.63 points) and the best score of the event with 16.80 points (8.63 + 8.17 ).

The athlete is off to a good start in defending the European title she won this year, as well as earning points towards requalification for the 2024 Challenger Series circuit.

The next stop on the European circuit is the Caraïbos Lacanau Pro, which takes place from the 15th to the 20th of August in Lacanau, France.
