Is your mouth watering already?

So now on to the desserts: Silves slug and orange blossom tea with lemon balm or orange liqueur, Carob pudding, Orange and fig mousse, Affogato, Sweet potato brownie, Dom Rodrigo, White shell scallop…

These are just some of the 176 proposals of Rota do Petisco, which will be back in 11 municipalities in the Algarve, from September 15th to October 15th.

In 2023, petiscadores will have 31 days to grab their Passport and taste the delicious delicacies of 176 establishments “spread” across the following municipalities in the Algarve: Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Portimão, Monchique, Lagoa, Silves, Albufeira, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira.

The Passport costs €1,50 and guarantees access to the event: at each stop, the booklet is stamped and the more snacks you try and the more stamps you collect, the more chances each snacker has to win excellent prizes.

The Petisco menu (dish + drink) costs 4 euros and the Sweet menu (dessert + drink) costs 2,50 euros. Within the Route there are “other” routes, namely the Route of the World – a selection of typical dishes from other countries, such as Cape Verde, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Turkey, India, Thailand, China or Japan, allowing you to go around the World without leaving our corner of the Algarve.

The Vegetarian Option gains new prominence in this edition, with more and more restaurants offering it and a total of 15 establishments serving it as the main dish.

Renowned chefs from the region are once again “acting” on the Audi Hitchhiking Route, the official partner brand of this modality. It is the Chefs' Route through which, for the cost of 5 euros (dish + drink), snackers are invited to taste the best author cuisine in the region in pleasant spaces, including hotel restaurants.

An increasingly young and entrepreneurial Passport

The Rota do Petisco 2023 Passport is already being distributed by participating establishments (find out which ones at www.rotadopetisco.com) and by some official points of sale in each of the municipalities that are part of the event, which will be revealed soon.

For the happiness of the faithful snackers who, over these 13 years, have been collecting Rota passports, four different and very original covers were produced. A work, once again, signed by BuummDesign and which meets the expectations of the Teia D'Impulsos Association, organizer of the event: to attract more and more young people and foreign tourists to the Route.

Elements of the typical gastronomy of each of the municipalities, such as sweet potatoes in Aljezur or sardines in Portimão, appear lively and very colorful, full of attitude and ready to “claim” their place at the table.

The Passport continues to be supportive and the process will be even more challenging and rewarding for the social institutions that want to be supported, since the pre-selected projects will integrate a Social Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, carried out by Teia D'Impulsos. The jury will choose as “winners” those who have the greatest social impact.
