Aerial means fight a fire of great proportions in the Monchique mountains

At least one Kamov helicopter, one light helicopter and two Fireboss planes are battling the flames.

A large fire has been raging on the southeast slope of the Monchique mountain range, in the area between Picota and Fornalha, since around 14:50 pm.

The fire is already being fought by seven air means, including a Kamov helicopter, a light helicopter and two Fireboss planes.

There are 141 operators on the ground, supported by 41 vehicles and nine air assets.

Everything indicates that the flames are evolving in an area that had already been destroyed by the great fire of 2018.
