The Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of the Assumption, which culminate on the 15th of August, begin on the 12th, in Cacela-Velha, in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António.
There will be four days of festivities full of musical performances and popular dances, with emphasis on religious celebrations, on August 15th, a national holiday and the last day of celebrations, with the Mass for the Solemnity of Our Lady of the Assumption (18h00), followed by a procession through the streets of the village (19h00).
The initiative is organized by the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, by the City Council of VRSA and by the Parish Council of Vila Nova de Cacela.
The summer pilgrimages in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António continue, year after year, to keep the tradition alive, in all parishes, honoring their patron saints.
