Fernando Daniel's concert, which took place on the new stage, in the surroundings of Casa do Sal, was the highlight of the festivities of the patron saint of Castro Marim, Nossa Senhora dos Mártires, which took place from 12 to 15 August.
From this stage, «a bridge was also made for the new regional positioning of this religious festival, harmonizing tradition in a cultural strategy integrated with art, gastronomy and leisure», says the Câmara de Castro Marim.
As usual, the Festas da Senhora dos Mártires also hosted an exhibition of handicrafts, with special emphasis on the participation of artisans from the municipality working live, representing the traditions, customs and identity of Castromarinense.
The concert by Banda Musical Castromarinense, at Revelim de Santo António, kicked off a long and festive weekend.
On the 12th of August, organized by the Castromarinense Parish Council, the entire audience was involved in a very special concert, which surprised with popular hits as well known as the “Baile de Verão” or the “Bela Portuguesa”.
The following day was for ARUTLA, a dance group from Altura that is already a regular on the lineup for these Festivities. The show was also a farewell moment for the girls who grew up with the group and are now moving on to their adult lives at the University.
However, the promise remains that they will be part of ARUTLA's 2024th anniversary in 25, a grand spectacle, as a tribute to this whole journey.
The eve of the holiday had “Adiafa” on stage and closed with Festa dos Anos 80 and DJ Dominique, in a contagious joy and an audience full of energy and nostalgia for a decade that still inspires.
The day of homage to the patron saint, August 15, began with the raising of the flag in the Town Hall.
It was also the day of the 6th edition of the futsal tournament in honor of Nelson Solá, a posthumous tribute to the former player.
The Procession in Honor of Nossa Senhora dos Mártires traveled through the streets of the village, accompanied and greeted by hundreds of devout faithful, in one of the most popular pilgrimages in memory.
The great concert by Fernando Daniel closed this edition of the Festivities, which were organized by the Municipality of Castro Marim and the Parish of São Tiago and the support of Local Clubs and Associations.
