Artist from Albufeira, Guilherme Limão, exhibits in Olhos de Água

Young also presented a “Mural Painting” of his own at the Municipal Market of Olhos de Água

The paintings by the artist from Albufeira, Guilherme Limão, have been on display in the exhibition room at Olhos de Água since this Friday, the 4th of August.

The exhibition opened at 19 pm, with a musical moment performed by flutist Vilma Keuchguerian.

This was not, however, the only inauguration of the day by Guilherme Limão. Earlier, at 18 pm, the young man also presented a “Mural Painting” of his own at the Municipal Market in Olhos de Água. This moment featured a presentation by Ana Sofia Brito, who made known a poem about Olhos de Água and was also accompanied by music from the accordion by Ana Luísa Águeda.

In this place, the new video by Bruno Almeida about the Municipal Market of Olhos de Água was presented with the aim of «promoting that local commerce space and encouraging the population to buy local products», says the Parish Council.

Guilherme Limão was born in 1993, in the Algarve, where he currently lives and works. His artistic work is based on exploring different approaches to «manifest a deconstruction of identity and to know the meaning of the limits that physical reality imposes». In his work there is an intimate fantasy for exploring a world where the lack of symbolic validation governs the narrative, trying to reach something more instinctive, animal and raw.

This initiative was attended by the president of the Parish Council of Albufeira and Olhos de Água Indaleta Cabrita and its executive, as well as several members of the municipal and parish assembly, with the mayor of Albufeira and vice-president Cristiano Goat.

This is yet another initiative of a cultural nature by the Parish Council of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, which marks the municipality's commitment to valuing local identity and culture and which gives a stage to young artists.
