Fado and flamenco night celebrates cross-border cultural heritage in Alcoutim

Special moment of celebration and cultural exchange between Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana

The Alcoutim City Council, in partnership with the City Council of Sanlúcar de Guadiana, promote a Night of Fado and Flamenco, which will take place in Praça da República, in the Algarve town, on the 15th of July.

According to the Alcouteneja municipality, this event includes initiatives that, «together and in a true spirit of cross-border cooperation, promise, through musical expression, to bring these two twin towns of the Guadiana even closer».

In Fado, the voices of Nani Nadais and Susana Martins take to the stage, accompanied by the Portuguese guitar of Pedro Ferreira and the fado viola of Miguel Monteiro.

In Flamenco, the show will be in charge of the Flamenco company Laura Guastini, bringing with it a show entitled “Fronteras”. «Carmen Yruela's passionate singing, Cristian Cabello's inspired guitar skills, Miguel Rosa's energetic percussion and Laura Guastini's engaging dance promise to transport the public to the essence of Flamenco», says Alcoutim Chamber.

This cross-border event will provide «a unique experience», during which «visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the emotions of Fado and Flamenco, two forms of expression that reflect the cultural identity and historical richness of Portugal and Spain».

The Night of Fado and Flamenco is free and invites all music and culture lovers to participate in this special moment of celebration and cultural exchange between Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana.
