Inframoura invests in eliminating water losses in its supply network

Inframoura foresees «a reduction in the volume of water losses by approximately 29.394 cubic meters per year»

Eliminating the «high level of real water losses» and «allowing increased efficiency in the management and use of the water resource» are the main objectives of the application that the municipal company Inframoura saw approved, within the scope of the Renovation and Rehabilitation of Supply Networks of Water in Baixa.

Inframoura's application was submitted to the tender for Investment RE-C09-i01 – Regional Water Efficiency Plan – SM1 – Reduce Water Loss in the Urban Sector (N.º1/C09-i01/2021).

The financing process for the Waterproofing of the Vila Sol Water Reservoir is now underway, in the amount of 33.684 euros, with 100% financing expected.

The intervention has now been completed and aimed at «repairing and waterproofing this infrastructure that was in an advanced state of degradation», explains the company.

According to Inframoura, «the intervention was quite relevant, not only in terms of reducing water losses associated with leaks and overflows in the distribution reservoirs, but also in terms of guaranteeing the stability and safety of the structure, in order to extend the life span use of this infrastructure”.

With the implementation of the interventions included in this application, Inframoura foresees «a reduction in the volume of water loss by approximately 29.394 cubic meters per year, thus contributing to the reduction of economic and environmental inefficiencies associated with the waste of water resources, with consequent repercussions on the quality of the service provided'.
