There is a new catalog that wants to boost creative tourism in the Algarve

The new catalog was developed as part of the Algarve Craft & Food project

Tasting vinegar, making tiborna and xarém, learning to work with esparto grass or molding a bowl in clay. 20 gastronomy and handicraft experiences are gathered in a new catalog who wants to boost creative tourism during holidays in the South.

Everyone knows that the Algarve is no longer just synonymous with the beach. But now there is a new set of gastronomy and craft experiences that will put tourists into action, in an active exchange with local communities.

All programs can be combined according to the preferences of each visitor, following the new dynamics of socially and environmentally responsible tourism.

The «Creative Tourism in the Algarve» catalog is available for consultation and download here in the multimedia area of the website.

The objective of the edition is simple: to invite visitors to get their hands dirty in the Algarve in an artistic way, through activities that highlight agri-food products and the region's arts and crafts.

From now on, anyone traveling to the south of the country will have the opportunity to develop their creative potential by participating in authentic experiences, learning about the historical and cultural heritage of the region through the voice of local residents, creating a living culture in the holiday destination .

The new catalog was developed within the scope of the Algarve Craft & Food project, promoted in partnership by the Turismo do Algarve Region, Tertúlia Algarvia and QRER (Cooperative for the Development of Low Density Territories), with funding from the operational program CRESC Algarve 2020 .
