Farense continues in the League Cup, Portimonense is on the way

Farense goes ahead in the League Cup, while Portimonense is on the way, after losing on penalties.

Farense, who this season returns to the I Liga, played yesterday, Saturday, and managed a home triumph against Oliveirense, from the II Liga.

the formation of Faro managed to impose itself in the first half, having won 3-0 at half-time, with goals from Marco Matias (16 minutes), Rui Costa (30') and Matheus Oliveira (35').

In the second half, Oliveirense tried to recover and managed to score two goals, by Schutte (55') and Zé Pedro (60').

The northern team also brought in Kazu Miura, who, at 56 years old, is the oldest player in the world in professional football. But even that did not guarantee the victory to Oliveirense, for what are the Faro that go on to the League Cup group stage.

Yesterday, Saturday, Portimonense was less happy, eliminated on penalties by Leixões, after reaching the end of regular time with a 0-0 result.

In the end, Matosinhos' formation won by 5-4.

Renato Luís (Leixões) scored the decisive goal, after Paulinho and Gonçalo Costa missed for Portimonense. Paulo Ferreira was the only one to fail for the northern team.

In addition to Leixões, Nacional also ensured their presence in the group stage this Sunday, joining Estoril, Farense and Aves SAD, who also passed the qualifiers. ~
