The Old Cemetery of Lagos will soon begin to undergo interventions, announced the City Council.
The contract, already contracted, includes the painting of the exterior walls and the intervention in the building of the Municipal Tomb, also known as the “Municipal Chapel”, as well as in the building of the Ossário.
In order to be able to start these works, which have an expected duration of 150 days, the municipality will remove the mortal remains stored in these places, making their temporary transfer to the New Cemetery, previously notifying the responsible family members or other interested parties in the legally foreseen terms. .
The works included in this contract do not affect the functioning of the cemetery, which will continue to be accessible during the usual visiting hours.
