Aljezur inspected illegal campers

The action took place on the proposal of the municipality

The GNR, the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF) and Aljezur Council inspected this Monday, July 17, the sites of Vale da Nora das Árvores, Ribeira das Cercas, Cerca dos Pomares and Alcaria where they found "several situations» of illegal camping. 

The action, proposed by the municipality, had the participation of two vehicles and nine operational personnel from the Portimão Detachment, the Environmental Protection Nucleus and Territorial Post of Aljezur of the National Republican Guard, one vehicle and four members of the ICNF and one vehicle and three technicians of civil protection and supervision of the Municipality.

The objective was to «identify situations of non-compliance with the territory management instruments, namely environmental infractions and buildings without licensing, abusive occupation of space, security conditions and rules regarding permanence and residence in the national territory».

 

 

 

 

At the sites of Vale da Nora das Árvores, Ribeira das Cercas, Cerca dos Pomares and Alcaria, "several situations of non-compliance were detected, whose offenders will be notified by the entity with competences in the area for the restoration of legality and possible application" of a fine, according to the Chamber of Aljezur.

In the end, there was a meeting in which the entities highlighted the «importance of the work carried out and the need to continue in the coming months the identical awareness-raising and inspection actions in rural spaces and places in the Municipality, identified with abusive occupation and without respect for the rules and land management regulations'.
