Tobacco and scratch cards seized in Quarteira

The facts were communicated to the Judicial Court of Loulé

93 packs of tobacco and 129 scratch cards were seized this Sunday, June 11, in Quarteira, from two men.

According to the GNR, everything happened following a road inspection action, in which the driver of a vehicle "adopted suspicious behavior".

After inspecting the vehicle, the military found leaflets, which are usually used to pack drugs, as well as several packs of tobacco, all of them inviolate and sealed by the Tax and Customs Authority, as well as "scratch cards", issued by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia, which they were already shaved.

In total, 93 packs of tobacco, 129 scratch cards, 42 lighters, eight doses of heroin, four mobile phones, two backpacks, two jerricans, a robot vacuum cleaner, an electric cement mixer, a suitcase and 145 euros in cash.

The action resulted in the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man for disobedience, since he was driving a vehicle that was seized due to lack of insurance.

The other occupant of the vehicle, a 37-year-old man, was accused of possession of material that is presumed to have been stolen, as he was unable to justify its origin.
