From June 15th to July 9nd

The Convent of Santo António, in Loulé, will host the Exhibition of the Finalists of the Visual Arts Course of the University of Algarve “Ode to everything and nothing”, from 15 June to 9 July.

The exhibition presents a selection of works relating to artistic investigations carried out by final year students of the degree in Visual Arts at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve, in the areas of drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, engraving, video art and digital/multimedia.

The “Ode to everything and nothing”, reflects, according to the municipality, the diversity of disciplines and technical and theoretical knowledge of the degree in which students have access to multidisciplinary training, providing diverse experiences.

«It is on this path of discovering Art, difference, subjective expression, that students are faced with a greater challenge, with the need to create, or with the illusion that the destruction/overcoming of old ideas makes us return to primordial nothingness », reads the note.

The “Ode to everything and nothing” aims to “provoke the community, challenge it in a stimulating way and present these new operators of cultural intervention”.

The exhibition will feature works by Bárbara Ferreira, Beatriz Silva, Caroll Nanami, Célia Howell, Diana Chen, Inês Duarte, Gogo, Manila Rana, Marina Pestana, Rita Santos, Rosa Guedes, Soraya Chantelle, Teixeira Guerra and Verónica Neto.

The curatorship is the responsibility of the faculty of the Degree in Visual Arts - Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve.

The inauguration is scheduled for 18:00 on the 15th, Thursday. The exhibition can be visited from 10:00 am to 13:30 pm and from 14:30 pm to 18:00 pm. Admission is free.
