André Gomes takes office as president of the RTA at the Autódromo

André Gomes was elected, on the 13th of June, as president of the RTA. The single candidate gathered 24 votes out of 31

André Gomes will take office as the new president of the Algarve Tourism Board (RTA) on the 1st of August, at 17 pm, in a ceremony at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.

The date was announced today, June 29th.

One of the main novelties is the location – at the Autódromo – since the swearing-in ceremony of the governing bodies usually takes place at the RTA headquarters.

André Gomes was elected, on the 13th of June, as president of the RTA. The single candidate gathered 24 votes out of 31.

As for the Board of the General Assembly, Hélder Martins, current leader of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA), was re-elected president, while the president of the Portuguese Association of Recreational Ports (APPR) Isolete Correia was re-elected secretary.

For the new term of office of the governing bodies of the RTA, Fátima Catarina, current vice-president of the Executive Committee, and the director of the Airport of Faro Alberto Mota Borges were both elected to the executive body, which will also include Vítor Guerreiro, mayor of São Brás de Alportel, representing the municipalities, and José Matias, president of Algarve Golf – Associação Regional de Golfe do Sul, co-opted as representative of private entities.
