Tradition returns to Paris on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of May, with a new edition of the Festa dos Tabuleiros Floridos, which will feature a program for the whole family, as part of the “Aldeias de Portugal” route.
The village, located in the heart of the Serra do Caldeirão, in São Brás de Alportel, celebrates this weekend the apparition of Fátima to the shepherd children, with yet another edition of this festival in honor of Our Lady of Fátima, a religious tradition that counts annually with many hundreds of visitors.
The program begins on Saturday, at 9 am, next to the Igreja Matriz de São Brás de Alportel, with a 00-kilometer pilgrimage to the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, organized by the São Brás de Alportel Scout Group.
For more experienced hikers, at 15 pm, a 00-kilometre walk to Parises also leaves the churchyard of the Igreja Matriz de São Brás de Alportel. This is an initiative by São Brás a Caminhar that takes participants along trails connecting to the Via Algarviana.
At the same time and in the same place, another group leaves for the “Walk along the Municipal Road”, an initiative promoted by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel that provides a support vehicle and return transport to participants on this 20-kilometre walk, with difficulty elevated.
At 17 pm, the recently inaugurated Casa da Serra hosts the workshop “Let's make brandeirinhos”: an activity for families with children over five years old.

The traditional Candlelight Procession in the Churchyard of Capela de Parises begins at 21:30 pm and closes the first day of this event.
Sunday, the 14th, Family Day, begins with a walk through the fields of the village that starts at 9 am, at the Centro de Convivio de Parises.
After picking the flowers, it is possible to participate in the intergenerational workshop for the preparation of flower trays, which includes the preparation of bread with chorizo in the wood-fired oven. Registration is available through the contacts 289 840 019 / [email protected].
Meanwhile, the Mercadinho na Aldeia returns to Parque da Serra, starting at 11:00 am, with handicrafts, local products and meals and snacks.
The Eucharist in honor of Our Lady of Fátima takes place in the Chapel of Parises, at 15 pm, followed by the traditional dancer, the presentation of the show “Caravana das Varieties” and the traditional auction of flowered trays.
This edition of the Festa dos Tabuleiros Floridos is organized in partnership by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, Parish of São Brás de Alportel and Grouping of Scouts 1330 of São Brás de Alportel, with the support of the IN LOCO Association, of the “São Brás a Caminhar” and the Group of Friends of the Village – Comunidade de Parises.
