Skills assumed since May

The Council of Aljezur assumed, since the beginning of this month of May, the competences in the area of health.

In this way, it now becomes the responsibility of municipal bodies: participation in the planning, management and carrying out of investments related to new primary health care provision units, namely in their construction, equipment and maintenance, management, maintenance and conservation of other equipment, non-medical, related to primary health care, management of workers inserted in the operational assistant career (3 workers), management of logistical support services to the units and strategic partnership in disease prevention programs, with special focus on promotion of healthy lifestyles and active ageing.

The Algarve Regional Health Administration (ARS) transfers ownership of the properties and (non-medical) equipment allocated to the buildings to the Municipality, with the annual valuation of transferred competences amounting to around 106 thousand euros to cover expenses with the maintenance and upkeep of properties, charges for operational assistants and logistical support service.
