University of Algarve hosts two international psychology congresses

Both congresses will take place in a hybrid format

The University of Algarve (UAlg) will host, in May and July, two international congresses in the field of psychology.

On the 4th and 5th of May, the “XI Ibero-American Congress of Psychological Assessment” will take place, which will bring together Portugal, Spain and several Latin American countries and, from the 19th to the 21st of July, the “44th International Congress of the Society of Stress, Trauma, Anxiety and Resilience (STAR)” will bring together participants from several dozen countries at UAlg.

The “XI Ibero-American Congress on Psychological Assessment” will increase cooperation between specialists from various Portuguese and Spanish-speaking countries in the fields of diagnosis and psychological assessment.

Already in 2013, the UAlg had hosted the organization of the “34th Congress Society of Stress, Trauma, Anxiety and Resilience (STAR)”, which had participants from 42 different countries.

Both congresses will take place in a hybrid format and for each of them more than two hundred presentations have already been proposed, in the form of symposiums, free communications and posters. In addition, there will be conferences given by some of the most renowned international experts in these fields.

For Saúl de Jesus, coordinator of the organization of these congresses, «these events, along with other initiatives that are being developed, such as the recent partnership with the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation (OMF), contribute in a relevant way to the internationalization of Psychology at UAlg , one of the main aspects taken into account in the evaluation of R&D Units by FCT».
